2022 Panini XR Football Product Review

The newest release from Panini just hit our shelves at Sports Card Market. Panini XR Football 2022 released today, January 4th, 2023. We opened a half case for ourselves and here are our thoughts and some of our hits.

We were definitely excited to open the boxes, as any sports card fan would be, but in the past XR Football has been a bit underwhelming. This year's product changes that story, as we fell in love with the product!

2022 Panini XR Football Cards - Checklist Added 2

In every hobby box, you’ll find on average:

  • 2 Autos
  • 1 Memorabilia Card
  • 1 Insert
  • 4 Parallels

The boxes we opened had multiple case hits as well as a few SSP’s (super short prints). Although they were not the big names we were looking for, we’ll always take a case hit. We pulled 2 different Rated R SSP’s of George Pickens and Trey McBride as well as a Rated XR of Davante Adams.

We also hit a bunch of auto’s and RPA’s. We hit a gold auto /10 of David Bell for the Browns as well as RPA’s of Desmond Ridder, Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, and Garrett Wilson. If you’re interested in buying any of these cards, they are currently available for sale on our eBay

Final Thoughts

Overall, we really enjoyed the product. There’s a lot of numbered cards and autos in every pack and you’re not overwhelmed by the amount of base cards. As of right now, the price on the product is around $400 where as previous years it’s been a bit higher.
