Playoff QB's Top Card Sales

Playoff QB's Top Card Sales

With the playoffs coming this weekend, we thought it would be fun to take a look at the 14 starting quarterback’s top card sales of all time. It was a blast putting this together; some of the prices on this list will definitley surprise you.

Jalen Hurts: $144,000.00

We start in the NFC! Jalen Hurts' highest sold card thus far is his Panini Prizm 1/1 Black Finite graded in a 9.5 from Beckett. The card sold on Goldin Auction House on 12/17/22.

Panini Prizm 1/1 Black Finite

Brock Purdy: $9,700.00

Brock Purdy's highest sold card thus far is his Panini Certified 1/1 rookie auto. The card sold on eBay on 12/22/22. With Brock Purdy being the last pick in the draft, some products don't have him in the set yet. Certified was the first set release to have Purdy in his 49'ers uniform.

Kirk Cousins: $1,835.23

Kirk Cousins highest selling card is his 2012 Panini Prizm silver rookie auto /99 graded a BGS 10 Auto Grade 10. The card sold on eBay on November 26th, 2022, making it the highest paid Kirk Cousins card in history.

Tom Brady: $2,400,000.00

Tom Brady, the G.O.A.T, has one of the higher sales on this list. His 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Rookie Ticket /100 graded a BGS 9 with an auto grade 10 sold for over $2 Million!

Dak Prescott: $36,000

Dak Prescott's highest sale is his 2016 Panini National Treasures Rookie Patch Auto /5 graded by Beckett as a 9.5 with an auto grade 10. The card sold on April 30th, 2022 at Goldin Auctions.

Daniel Jones: $56,400.00

Daniel Jones beat out some of his competition on this page with his 2019 Panini National Treasures NFL Shield BGS 9.5 with a 10 auto grade. No surprise that this card reached it's peak this year as Daniel Jones balled out! The card sold on Goldin Auctions on July 16th, 2022.

Geno Smith: $1,500.00

Geno Smith has one of the 'cheaper' highest sales price on this list with his Topps Platinum 1/1 rookie auto graded by Beckett as a 9.5. Although this price is low compared to others on the list, if you would have compared Geno to other starting QB's a year ago, it would have been WAY off. This sale happened on December 7th, 2022 on eBay.

Skylar Thompson: $501.00

We know Tua would normally be in this position, but with his concussion, Miami is rolling with Skylar Thompson in their 1st round matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Skylar's highest sold card as of now is his 2022 Panini Mosaic Black 1/1 rookie auto which sold via eBay on January 2nd, 2023.

Lamar Jackson: $192,000

Lamar Jackson has one of the higher end cards on this list. Taking the crown for him is his 2018 Panini National Treasures Rookie NFL Shield Auto 1/1 graded by PSA in a 7.5 NM slab. The card sold via Goldin Auctions on November 26th, 2022.

Justin Herbert: $1,800,000

This is where the list really starts to pickup. Justin Herbert is entering his first career playoff game this weekend, and his highest card sale is already above MVP's like Lamar Jackson. This is his Panini National Treasures 1/1 Rookie NFL Shield Auto, graded by BGS as an 8.5. The card is stunning, and the potential of this card and Justin Herbert is high.

Trevor Lawrence: $336,000

Another quarterback making his playoff debut this weekend is Trevor Lawrence. He's another player who fans are very high on, and his card market reflects that. His highest sold card thus far in his young career is his Panini National Treasures 1/1 Rookie NFL Shield graded by BGS as an 8. This card sold via Goldin Auctions on August 20th, 2022.

Joe Burrow: $534,000

When looking up the highest sale prices for all of these players, this one surprised me the most. I assumed surely Joe Burrow would be higher than Herbert. Apparently, his True 1/1 Shield has not hit any auction house yet, so for now, his highest card sale is the Panini Immaculate Collection 1/1 NFL Rookie Shield which sold on February 5th, 2022.

Josh Allen: $312,000

As of now, the highest online sale of Josh Allen is his 2018 Panini National Treasures Rookie Patch Auto Gold /10 graded by PSA as a 10. While this is the highest sale online, there have been sales of Josh Allen at card shows that may have surpassed this mark.

Patrick Mahomes: $4,300,000

Finishing off the list is one of the top 10 highest card sales of all time, Patrick Mahomes' Panini National Treasures Rookie Patch Auto NFL Shield 1/1 graded by BGS as an 8.5. The card sale was announced on July 28th, 2021. It was sold in a private auction on PWCC.

Looking at some of these sales may surprise you; because of how high they sold for and how low they sold for. Unfortunately, not all sales are public, so some of the cards listed above may not be the actual highest card sales, but as of right now they are the highest public sales.

What's the most expensive card in your collection? Let us know, we'd love to hear!
